Se conocieron las ternas de los Globos de Oro e Historia de un matrimonio, de Noah Baumbach, fue la más nominada, con seis postulaciones, incluyendo mejor película dramática, actor (Adam Driver), actriz (Scarlett Johansson) y guión, aunque quedó fuera de la categoría de dirección.
Cerca quedaron Había una vez en Hollywood, con cinco nominaciones, incluyendo mejor película de comedia, actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), actor de reparto (Brad Pitt), director (Quentin Tarantino) y guión; y El irlandés, incluyendo mejor película dramática, director (Martin Scorsese) y actor de reparto para Joe Pesci y Al Pacino, aunque Robert De Niro quedó fuera de la categoría de mejor actor.
Las que también se plantaron fuerte fueron Guasón, con nominaciones a mejor película dramática, actor (Joaquin Phoenix), banda sonora y director (Todd Phillips); Parasite y 1917, con postulaciones para mejor película dramática (Bong Joon-ho y Sam Mendes, respectivamente).
Por el lado televisivo, las miniseries Unbelievable y Chernobyl se quedaron con la mayor cantidad de nominaciones, mientras que Barry, Fleabag y The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel también tuvieron su parte. Por el contrario, Watchmen fue totalmente ignorada.
La ceremonia de los Globos de Oro tendrá lugar el 5 de enero y será conducida por Ricky Gervais.
