Las nuevas películas de Pedro Costa (Vitalina Varela), Eloy Enciso (Longa noite), Kiyoshi Kurosawa (To the ends of the earth) y Marie Losier (Felix in Wonderland) serán de la partida en la 72ª edición del Festival de Locarno, que se celebrará entre el 7 y el 17 de agosto próximo.
El film de Costa integrará la Competencia Internacional, junto a títulos como Endless night de Eloy Enciso, Height of the wave de Park Jung-bum y A girl missing de Koji Fukada, entre otros.
Por su parte, en la sección Piazza Grande se verán Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood de Quentin Tarantino, Adoration de Fabrice Du Welz, Diego Maradona de Asif Kapadia, Notre Dame de Valerie Donzelli y el nuevo film de Kurosawa, entre los más destacados.
Locarno estará dedicado este año al recientemente fallecido Freddy Buache, director de la Filmoteca Suiza entre 1951 y 1996, por lo que se verá Lettre à Freddy Buache (1982) de Jean-Luc Godard. Además, los Premios Pardo d’Onore y Excellence Award serán otorgados al cineasta John Waters y al actor surcoreano Song Kang-ho, respectivamente.
