La nueva película de Damien Chazelle, La La Land, con Ryan Gosling y Emma Stone se impuso fuertemente en los Critics Choice Awards, ganando como mejor film del año y obteniendo 8 de las 12 estatuillas a las que aspiraba.
El film, que se postula como uno de los principales contenientes para la próxima edición del Oscar, ganó en los rubros de mejor film, pero además en dirección, guión original (compartido con Manchester by the sea), fotografía, diseño de producción, edición, canción y música.
Además, los Critics Choice Awards premian también a la producción televisiva, Game of thrones se impuso como mejor drama pero The People v. O.J. Simpson ganó como mejor telefilm o miniserie y además se llevó varias distinciones destinadas al elenco.
